2019 conference to be held in South Africa
Condé Nast International will host its annual Luxury Conference in 2019 in South Africa, it was announced by Suzy Menkes, International Vogue Editor and curator of this annual event.
Describing the choice of destination, Suzy Menkes commented: “‘The Nature of Luxury’ shows Condé Nast International, once again, as the absolute leader in global seminars for the luxury and fashion industry. Taking the annual Luxury Conference to South Africa is not only a bold gesture but also a statement of support of the entire continent’s current growth. Its subject also embraces a changing perception of what luxury stands for: craft, handwork, nature and nurture in an ever-changing landscape. I hope that our attendees will enjoy discovering the nature of luxury with me, and the importance of this industry to Africa.”
‘The Nature of Luxury’ will be the fifth Condé Nast International event of its kind, with ‘The Language of Luxury’ Conference taking place in Lisbon in April 2018. The inaugural Condé Nast International Luxury Conference took place in Florence in 2015, followed by Seoul, Korea in 2016, and Muscat, Oman earlier this year. Speakers already announced for the 2018 event in Lisbon include Alexandre Arnault, Giambattista Valli, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Christian Louboutin, Federico Marchetti, Hilary Swank, Marisa Berenson, Philipp Plein and Claus-Dietrich Lahrs.
